RT by @elonmusk: To justify mRNA vaccine mandates, Americans were told the shots would stop infection, block transmission, and end the spread of COVID. None of that was true, and Fauci knew it. Trust collapsed not because Americans became “anti-science,” but because Fauci misled the public, moved the goalposts, and worked with Big Tech to silence dissent. In August 2022, Fauci wrote in his own diary that he pushed the CDC to avoid saying the vaccines were “not effective at all in preventing infection and transmission.” Why? Because it “would undermine the DOJ’s efforts at mandates.” He suppressed the truth to protect the mandates, not the public. Meanwhile, the people chanting “trust the science” were silencing scientists: Dr. @RWMaloneMD: banned from Twitter. Dr. @P_McCulloughMD: smeared and deplatformed. Dr. @DrJBhattacharya: smeared and shadowbanned. Millions of other Americans were censored, mocked, or branded “conspiracy theorists” for questioning lockdowns, school closures, treatment protocols, natural immunity, or vaccine efficacy. The same Left and media that attacked them still runs cover for Fauci and his agency’s funding of GOF coronavirus research in Wuhan. Science advances through skepticism, open debate, and challenges to established claims. Fauci and the Left's COVID playbook relied on the opposite: captured agencies, Big Tech, and corporate media working together to crush dissent and protect the official narrative. Fauci wanted to become the world’s most famous scientist. Instead, he did more to destroy public trust in science than anyone in our lifetime.

RT by @elonmusk: Time Magazine, February 24th 1961 In the 5 years that followed the labor force grew by 6.4% and real wages grew by 9.9%. Some quotes: The number of jobs lost to more efficient machines is only part of the problem. What worries many job experts more is that automation may prevent the economy from creating enough new jobs. Many of the losses in factory jobs have been countered by an increase in the service industries or in office jobs. But automation is beginning to move in and eliminate office jobs too. In the past, new industries hired far more people than those they put out of business. But this is not true of many of today’s new industries. The switch from manned military aircraft to missiles has cost 200,000 production jobs, even though the aircraft industry’s dollar volume is up.

RT by @elonmusk: Americans buried parents alone. Children lost years of childhood. Families watched businesses they had built over a lifetime disappear. And while the country suffered, Anthony Fauci was writing in his diary about becoming “the most famous and talked about person in the country” and marveling that his fame was “explosive and really unimaginable.” There was no camera he couldn’t find. No interview he couldn’t give. No American life he wouldn’t micromanage. He said one thing to the public, and would write the opposite in his diary. Today, when the country finally demanded answers, the man who never stopped talking suddenly went silent.

RT by @elonmusk: Jensen Huang was asked about the people technology left behind. He didn't offer a plan. He said the gap already closed. Huang: "All of a sudden artificial intelligence closed that technology divide." That divide was never a gap in ability. It was a language requirement. Huang: "Anybody could be a software programmer now." Every tool we ever built charged admission, and the price was always a language. The press needed literacy. The engine needed the manual. The computer needed code. Every tool in history had the same shape. The human moved toward the machine, compressed into a form it could parse. Whoever couldn't compress stayed outside. Code was always a human speaking machine. Seventy years of people translating themselves down into something a processor would accept. It just learned to speak back. Nothing has ever moved in that direction before. So we sorted people by the toll and pretended we were sorting by mind. The ones who paid became skilled. Everyone else became unskilled, a word that has never once described a real person. It only meant fluent in nothing the market was buying. Huang: "Everybody who are really gifted at their craft but maybe they don't know how to scale themselves with technology, they now have AI to help scale them." The best cook in a village of four thousand died the best cook in a village of four thousand. Not from a shortage of ability, but from a second requirement that had nothing to do with the first. Go back far enough in your own family and there is someone who was extraordinary at something. The world never found out. Neither did they. Ability was never distributed by geography. Access was, and access is the only thing that got recorded. Every system you move through in a day was built by the narrow band who could speak to a machine. Not the best ideas anyone had. The ideas that survived translation. We have never once seen what the rest of the species would have made. The scarcity was never in the talent. It was in the distance between holding it and reaching anyone. That distance was the product the technology industry sold. Huang: "They're welcomed into the world's economy, not burdened by technology anymore because AI made that possible." Burdened. Technology sold itself as leverage for a century, and the man supplying the whole industry just called it a weight. A developer you couldn't afford. A site that broke on a Sunday with no one to call. You paid the technology industry for permission to be findable. Nobody on earth got smarter this decade. The door stopped asking for a password. Huang: "Five years from now, it is likely that we're all going to be more gainfully employed. The economy is gonna be more productive." He grounds that in the labor shortage already on the books. Open work with nobody there to do it, inside an economy panicking about a machine that takes work away. Both cannot be true. The fear says there won't be enough work for us. The ledger says there aren't enough of us for the work. Every time a tool stopped requiring a specialist, the specialist lost a monopoly and everyone else gained a century. Writing left the scribes. The press left the church. The computer left the lab. The barrier was also a shelter. Everyone left outside got to keep the version of themselves that was never tested. For most of history that was a mercy. The wall did the refusing, so you never had to hear it from anyone else. The wall is gone. Now you find out. Nothing about you changed. The requirement did. For the first time, the only thing between what you can do and who it reaches is whether you do it.

RT by @elonmusk: A joint statement from the WFA and X Corp. Today the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) and X Corp. are putting the litigation involving the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM) behind them. This resets the relationship between the two organizations. WFA reiterates its commitment to freedom of speech, a principle first included in WFA’s founding constitution back in 1953, and a principle it shares with X. On August 9, 2024, WFA discontinued GARM. WFA will not form or restart GARM or a similar initiative. WFA and X are fully aligned in the view that brands, platforms and consumers will all benefit from brand-safety innovation.

RT by @elonmusk: An illegal migrant has been sent to prison after turning up at a Heywood school armed with a hammer, hatchet and kitchen knife. A South Sudanese national named Both Douk Deng. He was stopped at the school with a hammer, hatcher, seven-inch kitchen knife, and jerry can containing half a litre of petrol. I dread to think - it would have been a pure massacre. How much more of this do we have to tolerate? Are we going to gamble with the lives of British children to accommodate these animals? On day one of a Restore Britain Government, every single of these scumbags who has broken into our country will be detained, and they will be deported. ENOUGH is ENOUGH.

RT by @elonmusk: I’m on vacation and haven’t been able to read the entire diary, but someone sent me a page where Fauci complained about my September 2022 interview with former CDC Director Robert Redfield. Redfield told me in the interview that during the first few months of the pandemic he tried to get a CDC team into China but was cut out of critical government meetings by Fauci. Redfield suspected that Fauci began to isolate him for saying the government needed to investigate whether the pandemic started from a lab in Wuhan, China. Science reporters allied with Tony Fauci later labeled Redfield a “conspiracy theorist” for saying he thought the pandemic likely started from a lab accident. https://disinformationchronicle.substack.com/p/fauci-labelled-me-a-totally-weird

I personally see it as extreme short term deleveraging that overshot many individual names. - $BE to $TER reported blowout results, with Bloom reporting 166% Y/Y rev growth + expanding margins + raised 2026 guidance... Teradyne reported 104% Y/Y revenue growth with 300%+ EPS growth. Your leading optical players over in China reported amazing preliminary earnings + extremely strong read through for the Western photonics sector. Think earnings season tend to remind markets about continued AI acceleration. I'm expecting $LITE, $SNDK / SK Hynix, and sector leader ERs to continue that trend. But it does feel like markets are rewarding existing acceleration more rather than future growth a year out over near-term revisions as seen with $AMKR. But as a TLDR, looks very positive for the themes I'm tracking. - Then you have $GOOGL capex raised to $195-$205B, which is typically the biggest AI demand signal from hyperscalers. - 77% 0bps change est. next FOMC decision from prediction markets. Trump administration on Monday called for the Fed to lower interest rates. So your 3x rate hikes fears this year seem kinda overblown. - Chinese fears from DUV to $CXMT overflooding are extremely overblown as well. We see this with every sector from time to time until people remember that lasers or HBM bottlenecks for a reason. As for personal thoughts, it was unhealthy seeing everything rise up or down together, especially with these themes. But I'm personally not worried since I have full conviction in my names, especially optical interconnects like $SIVE or $AAOI. $META compute and $GOOGL GCP margins/growth shows increasing demand for $NBIS and similar neocloud business models. $META + other hyperscaler notes around LTAs with $SNDK and Samsung/SK Hynix, $MU point to structural memory demand. Can go on and on... But when you have Jim Cramer telling every margined DC trader to "sell everything" at market open and news saying there's an AI bubble. I do hate it when others say "it's dropping so sell". My belief is that the important thing to look is accelerating revenue/EPS growth. And if that thesis stays in-tact with revenue acceleration in line with hyperscaler capex. TLDR: I see signs of AI demand / revenue acceleration, hyperscaler capex is one of the most important things to track. And my guess is that we'll see the theme recover broadly. But I can't predict what hour, day, or week that happens.
